Blues

“Jazz Blues and More” with Roger Gonzales
Fridays 4 PM-6 PM

Start your weekend off right, every Friday from 4:00 PM till 6:00 PM with Jazz, Blues and More. Each week Roger Gonzales plays an eclectic mix of music ranging from Paul DeLay to The Swan Silvertones, from Kurt Elling to the Buena Vista Social Club and much more. Roger’s passion for music goes far beyond his work on 90.7 KFSR. In fact, Roger is one the Valley’s top harmonica players, and is well versed in both jazz and blues. Roger’s music career began when he picked up a harmonica at the tender age of 37. After six months in the music school of hard knocks, Roger sought a mentor. He was fortunate to find harmonica master Eddie Gordon as his mentor and continues to be under his tutelage. Returning to college in his forties, Roger has since completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music Education at CSUF.

The Blue Buffet Saturday 2 PM-4 PM
Join the “Hound Dog” every Saturday afternoon as he sniffs out the best in Blues, classic soul, vintage R&B, old school rock, maybe even a dab of Doo Wop for his unique musical menus.  It is a veritable smorgasbord of soulful tunes to go with whatever you do on Saturday afternoon.  Blues is the main course, but the side dishes are pretty tasty too.

A Guy Thing
Friday 2 PM
It’s really not just for guys, but the music will be decidedly male as The Hound Dog explores the world of male vocalists. You could say it’s kind of “A Guy Thing” because if it has a male voice, he’s liable to play it – regardless of whether it’s jazz, blues, pop, rock’n'roll, bluegrass, even country. We wanted to give our Ol’ Dog some room to stretch, so you could hear anything from Mose Allison and Louis Armstrong to Buckwheat Zydeco & ZZ Top, and most everything in between.
