Kyle Wheeler
Evening Eclectic Music Director

Kyle Wheeler joined the Evening Eclectic program as music director in January 2011. A native of Fresno, he is a junior at Fresno State majoring in electronic media production, with a minor in music. Kyle pledges allegiance to a wide range of his favorite artists, including Miles Davis, Pink Floyd, and Mr. Bungle. The first record he ever bought was Van Halen’s “Women and Children First” on 12-inch vinyl.

Outside the studio, Kyle plays trumpet in the Fresno State Jazz Orchestra. Last year, he started an experiment called Electro-Funk Explosion, a 10-piece band that plays funk and electronic covers of rock and jazz tunes in and around the Tower District. He also creates music in his home studio for film projects.

Kyle once toured nationally and headlined at the Fillmore in San Francisco with one of his former bands, LUCE. He can also drive a semi truck like no one’s business. In his free time, he enjoys organizing his analog music collection, writing and producing videos and music, and wishing he had more free time.
