The Flavors of the Valley


Every week, The Flavors of the Valley celebrates the San Joaquin Valley’s local food culture, from food to wine, craft brews to our local agricultural riches. Hosted by Klaus Tenbergen the program features interviews with local winemakers and chefs, and also goes on the road in search of exciting food adventures and hidden food gems. So pull up a chair and join us, Sundays at 11:00 AM on 90.7 KFSR for The Flavors of the Valley.

This week on “The Flavors of the Valley”, KFSR’s Dr. Klaus Tenbergen talks to Sarah M. Schuster, MPH; Dietetic Intern at California State University, Fresno; about her journey at Fresno State and the newest trends in the food industry for 2012. Listen to Miss Schuster as she explains how dietitians supervise the preparation and service of food, develop modified diets, participate in research, and educate individuals and groups on good nutritional habits. Miss Schuster will discuss the goals of dietitians, which is to provide medical nutritional intervention, and to obtain, safely prepare, serve and advise on flavorsome, attractive, and nutritious food for patients, groups and communities.

The Flavors of the Valley – (1/28/2012)

This week on “The Flavors of the Valley”, KFSR’s Dr. Klaus Tenbergen talks to Elizabeth Ferris, MS, RD; Dietetic Internship Director; Department of Food Science and Nutrition;  California State University, Fresno about her educational and work background. Mrs. Ferris explains what Fresno State Dietetic Interns do on their rotations and what the students learn during the year long program; which ultimately prepares students to become a Registered Dietitian (RD).
